One Don Gang Trial: Main Witness Says 'Blackman' Ordered Member To Carry Out Execution

The former don-turned-state witness in the One Don Gang trial on Monday testified that the alleged leader of the criminal network, Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan, ordered one of the members to carry out an execution in 2019.   The witness said the gang member, who was identified only as Razeem, was instructed to carry out the hit as a test to gain Mr. Bryan‘s trust.   Razeem and another man were shot and killed by the police during an alleged gun battle on January 25, 2019.   The witness, who returned to the stand on Monday morning, made the allegation while identifying voices in an excerpt from phone conversations he secretly recorded.    Responding to the prosecution’s query regarding how he knew Mr. Bryan instructed Razeem to carry out the attack, the witness said the alleged gang leader issued the order in a telephone conversation.    He said one of the defendants, Jahzeal ‘Squeeze Eye’ Blake, drove the get-away car and travelled with another defendant, Fabian ‘Crocs’ Johnson.    The witness, who said he was driving a car belonging to the lone female defendant Stephanie Christie, told the Home Circuit Court that he parked near an area known as Borderline in Spanish Town, St. Catherine when the shots were fired.    However, the court was not told whether the execution was successful.
